1983 Toyota 4x4 Pickup Truck

Here is a picture of my 1983 Toyota 4x4 pickup truck. You can just see the front of the 2000 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 in the background. The 1983 Toyota 4x4 pickup has Skyjacker springs and shocks. The front bumper on the Toyota Tacoma is from Rockware.

Toyota Trucks are awesome 4x4's, but why bigger?

Toyota has become a branding with a true cult following. Have you ever heard anyone who has owned a Toyota ever say they were not a Toyota fan? Very very rarely if ever. That is amazing. Yet, while I admit I am a true die hard Toyota fan, I am continually disappointed in where Toyota is headed. Why is bigger better? OK, I admit the old 20R 4 cylinder motors were a wee bit gutless, especially here at 9100 feet above sea level in Colorado, and the 22R motors were not much peppier. On the other hand, a 20R is all but bulletproof, and accept for the 22R's timechain issue, they too were super solid. Yes, I love my 2000 Toyota Tacoma. It is comfortable and the 2.7 liter engine is a fine powerplant. My issue is that now that I am shopping for another Toyota Tacoma, I have to go back prior to 2004 to find the body style I desire. I also am not interested in extended cab pickups or four door crew cabs. I jsut want a Toyota 4x4 pickup with two doors and four cylinders.
